Thanks to the crew who made it over to The Troubadour on Wednesday night. What a nice venue. Some interesting acts - I really liked Syd Arthur (www.sydarthur.co.uk) - and great musicians all round.

We were limited to a 6 song set, but we blasted it and got the place steaming. i hope they'll get us back again.

Next up is Jamm in Brixton on Friday night (14th July).

bring it on.

Blimey! Have you seen how many gigs we've got lined up??

Well this is partly on account of having recruited more talent to the band.... enter Katie Oxtoby on BV's (that's Backing Vocals, duh!), and Rob Vetch on drums.

More people = more gigs, surely?

Also we have pulled a BIG GIG......

Sunday 23rd July we'll be opening the Main Stage at LOVEBOX

bring it on.

Gigs agogo!

After a very successful performance at The Students Union at The University of Surrey, Guildford in May we have 3 more dates in the diary. At the end of April we will be supporting The Alabama 3 at Dirty South in Lewisham. This is a Saturday nighter with late bar and plenty of good bands, so we hope to see a few familiar faces down there. We have a bunch of tickets in our hot sweaty mits - pls drop us a line as it might be more expensive on the door.

Then on the 7th May we are supporting Maxfield at The Brixton Telegraph, which is just down the road (from me at least). They've got a great PA system there are Maxfield are destined for great things. As are we, of course!

Then Monday 5th June we're doing 2 sets at The Prince, down in Brixton proper. This newly spruced up pub is making its name as a choice venue for the SW London crowd. And it's free to get in! Can you believe it?

Hopefully we will soon be appearing with a drummer in the line up to beef up the already Marmite-flavoured beats. there's no stopping us now - we're on the move etc....

The Studio has moved from London SW16 to London SW16. But it's bigger so I may need to get access to a larger sort of feline to swing.

Amy is still in New York - come back, Amy - all is forgiven. We need you here!

Chris is now a married man!

James has also moved house...

so things have been up in the air for a while, but now it's time to knuckle down, finish off some half-cooked ideas, and line up a gig to try them out.

what news? Well there are 3 new mp3 files up at the "Show Me the Music" page.

"Taboo" was originally "Slut Funk" until James started the lyrics and Aimee finished them off. Funky bassline, naughty lyrics and the usual Hoover production job. Tasty.

"Remedy" has been polished to a sparkling shine. Aimee's lyrics talk of packing up and moving away from the big smake - how very apt! Watch out for our New York gigs in the next few months!

"If You Leave" has bit of a Mylo feel to it & features Julius on vocals in the chorus. Euwww! Luckily Aimee's dulcet tones in the verses save the day. James was wearing his disco shirt when we recorded the basslines.

Have a listen and give us a buzz if you have any feedback.

Cargo on the 20th April was a great sucess - thanks to everyone that came along. Good crowd, nice venue and all-round good vibes. James the Bass wasn't the happiest chappy, 'cos his bass didn't seem to be making much noise for 50% of the set. Howver once the low frequencies kicked in his cheered up (a bit!). Aimee proved that she can hold her own and strutt her stuff at the same time.

Bring it on.

AHA!

After long periods of silence the blog appears back on the radar.....

So... Jason declares his intention to depart the ways of the Manoeuvres in order to
a) Go to the other side of the world for many months
b) Focus more on his own horribly catchy and musically hookmungous songwriting.

He never was a proper bassist, you know. Ace singer though....

The good news is that you will no longer need to bring sunglasses to gigs to protect your eyes from the intense reflections of the stage lights off his shiny dome.

We will be recruiting shortly. Does anyone know if Geddy Lee is working at the moment?
